Walk down the aisle looking your best

Wedding preparations are always so exciting. Every bride-to-be has her own goals, the dress, the shoes, the venues…but let’s get real. We all want to look our best as we walk down the aisle. This is not about weight loss, this is about feeling at your most optimum health, glowing with happiness and having your well-being on point. So as 2017 approaches, we spoke to Miriam from Natvia about quitting sugar as a bride-to-be resolution- refined sugar that is. It sounds so much harder than it is, thanks to natural sweeteners that are out there today.

Here are 5 easy ways to part ways with sugar this new year:

1. Bake the healthy way

Are you a fan of delicious baked goods? We’ve got great news. It seems that you now can have your cake and eat it too thanks to Natvia. This 100% natural sweetener will be your little healthy helper in baking the sugar free way. If you are craving cake, why not organise a sugar free soiree at your place and make your own cake, with no sugar? You’ll definitely impress the girls and keep the healthy momentum going. They might even join in your new healthy kick.

2. Say no to alcohol

Yes, we know it’s the festive season and it’s all about the bubbles and Bayleys, but your health is much more important than that. Besides, you can have just as much fun, if

not more, when sober. Need some inspiration for healthy sugar-free beverages? We’ve got some seriously delicious mocktail recipes to get you through this social time and keep in good shape. We have a feeling you will love the sugar free Coconut Choco-tini.

3. Sweet high tea sans sugar

Love to indulge in a delicious mid afternoon tea break? We do too, but with that usually comes a biscuit, or a jam covered scone. As much as we love both, they really don’t help keep those extra kg’s away. Instead just swap that teaspoon of sugar with a mini Natvia sachet that is virtually calorie free and indulge in these delicious sugar-free cookies that you can make in bulk for the rest of the week. They still taste sweet, but without the nasties.

4. DIY fruit water

The number one rule of any health driven transformation is the consumption of water. It not only keeps you hydrated, but it helps keep your waist nice and slim. We know that some people may find the plain water taste boring and bland so they end up buying some sort of flavoured water from the local shop. This is not bad, but if you could avoid all that extra sugar and make your own, why not do so? Fill up a water jug and add bits of your favourite fruits in it. Let it sit in the fridge for a good hour or two, before having a taste. It’s quick, easy and natural!

5. Keep active

There really isn’t any special formula when it comes to looking your best. The food you eat and the overall nutrition plan you follow is responsible for a big percentage of it, but let’s not forget exercising. Keeping fit and in shape long-term requires balance;so don’t forget to do your cardio at least three times a week. Plus when you exercise, your body will automatically over time adjust itself to just crave healthy, natural food.

We hope that these easy steps to a sugar-free lifestyle have motivated you enough to actually do it. You can definitely look your best when you say I do, it’s all about making the right changes for your health.
