A wedding venue steeped in history

The Old Ship in Brighton, part of the newly established Cairn Collection, is one of Brighton’s oldest hotels, a wedding venue steeped in history. Set right on the bustling seafront, the 4* hotel boasts 154 guest rooms, 49 of which have far reaching views out to sea. Each guest room is individually designed, providing each with their own unique character.

Steeped in history, much of the hotel dates back to 1559.  At the heart of the hotel lies The Old Wine Cellar, which was once part of a series of smugglers’ tunnels discovered during restorations in the 1990s. A quirky room, with a story to tell, the wine cellar is a popular setting for an intimate wedding breakfast, and can cater for up to 30 guests.

The hotel has many royal connections, and has also been frequented by famous guests including Winston Churchill and Charles Dickens.

A dedicated in-house catering team, who serve seasonal dishes using high quality produce, ensures that each wedding is lovingly catered for. Whether the happy couple select one of the many menu packages available, or chose to create a bespoke menu, the chefs are on hand to tailor each dish to suit personal tastes and preferences.
