Britain’s Best Bridesmaid revealed!

Group travel experts Red7 knew that the search for Britain’s Best Bridesmaid would be a lot like planning a wedding – a rollercoaster packed with stories of loyalty, hilarity and plenty of surprises. After examining nearly 500 nominations from brides across Britain, the wait is finally over.

Congratulations to Nicole Hutton from Bedale, North Yorkshire, who has been declared Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2018!

Britains best bridesmaidChosen from seven fantastic finalists, Nicole has won the prestigious title and will also be honoured with her very own ‘BridesmaidMoon,’ an incredible getaway on cruise to gorgeous Bruges and trendy Amsterdam – and she definitely deserves it!

Bride Elizabeth Upward nominated Nicole for making her dreams of a big Las Vegas wedding come true.

When Elizabeth and Tom decided to tie the knot in Las Vegas, just three weeks after the proposal, they did not expect any of their nearest and dearest to attend the wedding. “I was gutted that none of my family could make it. It was too late notice, too expensive, too far and too much of an ask, “says Elizabeth.

After a Vegas-themed hen do in York, complete with handmade hangover kits, the bride and groom jetted off to the USA without bestie Nicole, “I was really sad she wouldn’t be with me on my big day.”

Elizabeth had no idea that a surprise was in store until she was on American soil. “Our flight from New York to Vegas was delayed and Tom was getting agitated and making lots of calls. I had no idea why.

“He told me there was a surprise waiting. When we landed in Vegas there was a chauffeur waiting with a sign. I thought this was the surprise.

“Then I turned around and said ‘Tom... doesn’t that girl look just like Ni...... NO WAY!’ And she was stood there!”

Nicole had secretly flown herself to Las Vegas, even sending Elizabeth a decoy text message at 10pm UK time the night beforehand. However, the surprise was far from over. When the trio arrived at the luxurious Bellagio Hotel they were greeted by a fancy-dress clad crowd of Elizabeth’s friends and family. As a stunned Elizabeth went to hug her guests, they parted to reveal her beloved brother who had travelled across the Atlantic to give her away.

Elizabeth and Tom were married in front of the Fountains of Bellagio, watched by a Facebook Live audience of 4,000, and danced the night away atop the bar of a Vegas nightclub.

Having recently experienced the loss of both parents, Elizabeth was overjoyed to be treated to such an incredible wedding. “It really was the most magical day and Nicole took all the stress out of it for us,” said Elizabeth.

“I just wanted to give my best friend the best experience ever after what she had been through,” said Nicole, “I know she would have done the same for me - that's what friends are for.”

“I really didn't do this for recognition and I really didn't expect it. It meant the world to me to be part of her and Tom's special (and slightly crazy!) day in Vegas. I wanted make it as memorable as possible.”

“Winning is the perfect end to a beautiful fairy-tale and I get to celebrate all over again with Liz!”

Red7 founder Ian Lucas commented: “We are over the moon to crown Nicole as Britain’s Best Bridesmaid 2018!

“We had so many incredible nominations and the competition was our closest yet. Nicole stood out for her creativity, her love for her best friend and her dedication to keeping such an amazing secret.

“After giving her bride an unforgettable wedding abroad, it is only right that Britain’s Best Bridesmaid gets treated to her very own cruise. Everyone here at Red7 wishes her a fantastic time!”
