‘Furrytail’ Weddings Fit for a Corgi

DOGS and royal weddings are set to become one of this year’s big themes – and Princess Eugenie’s forthcoming nuptials could be no exception.

Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank tie the knot at Windsor Castle on October 12th – and there’s speculation as to what part the Princess’s devoted dog – also called Jack - will play in their big day.

Meghan Markle’s rescue dog Guy was said to be the hit of the Royal wedding reception when she married Prince Harry in May - so could it be second time around for a ‘furrytail’ ending?

You don’t have to be a Princess to want your precious pet to be involved in such a special day.

Thanks to dog sitting specialists Barking Mad, you no longer have to ‘paws’ for thought when it comes to your dog attending your wedding as a VIP.

With many wedding venues now becoming dog-friendly, the concept of having your hound around on your special day is rapidly increasing in popularity. #dogsatweddings is now an actual ‘thing’ with adorable photographs of happy couples, with doggy flower girls or ring bearers, going viral on social media.

Barking Mad. Lee Dancy, founder and MD, enthuses:

“Wedding day pet care can be very problematic as pretty much everyone you would trust to look after your four-legged best friend will be a guest at your special ceremony. At Barking Mad, we simply adore dogs and understand that they become a real part of the family. As such, it can be unfathomable to consider having such an important celebration without them!

Our bespoke dog wedding chaperone service allows the bride and groom to relax and enjoy the wedding, knowing their pet is in safe hands. We create an experience which the wedding party and their guests will love, providing fantastic photo opportunities and creating treasured memories, whilst also ensuring the happiness and welfare of their dog.”

Barking Mad’s advice for planning a wedding with a canine V.I.P is:

  • Ensure you book a dog friendly wedding venue (or one with an outside area for photographs)
  • Advise all guests that a dog will be attending the wedding in case of allergies
  • Carefully consider what role you would like your pet to play in the proceedings, according to their temperament
  • Make sure that any accessories are safe and comfortable for your pet
  • Liaise with your wedding photographer, as they will be able to come up with some fun ideas for adorable photos
