A London jeweler is hoping to ‘bake’ one of the most special moments in life a little sweeter, with a tasty new engagement trend that has been sweeping social media – engagement ring hand cookies.
Following a recent surge in unique and unusual engagement announcement trends, jeweler, Beaverbrooks, is giving away an Instagram-worthy cookie with every diamond ring sold at its London Westfield Stratford store.
With many couples now going to new lengths to announce their engagement on social media – whether it’s with help from a pet, an elaborate selfie or a handwritten note, the baked treats provide a new (and delicious) way of spreading the happy news to family and friends.
The bite-size gestures, crafted by artisan bakers, Custom Cookie Co, feature an icing recreation of a diamond engagement ring in glazed sugar on a vanilla biscuit hand, beautifully manicured with icing sugar frosting.
The cookies will be given to anyone who purchases an engagement ring in the store and are designed to help newly engaged couples announce their big news in style.
The jeweler created the Instagrammable treats after finding that 42 per cent of millennials now take an ‘engagement selfie’, with 53 per cent having their hair or nails done especially for the occasion.
The store will be the first in the UK to give away engagement ring hand cookies to its customers.
Ben McHugh, store manager at Beaverbrooks Westfield Stratford, said: “As a high-street jeweler we are constantly on the lookout for the latest engagement ring trends and this one definitely caught our eye.
“Proposal announcements are getting bigger and better, with newly engaged couples always on the lookout for new and creative ways of spreading their happy news.
“As well as looking great on social media feeds, our unique engagement ring hand cookies are a fun (and tasty) way of announcing the special event – it’s the sweetest engagement trend yet!”
The engagement ring hand cookies are available now in Beaverbrooks Westfield Stratford, but you’ll have to be quick to get your hands on one, as they are only available while stocks last.
