Luxury County Durham hotel showcases quirky wedding ideas for 2019

A luxury 17th-century country house and spa is highlighting new ways for newlyweds to celebrate their special day in 2019. Nestled in the heart of the Durham Dales, the 4-star Headlam Hall offers the perfect and most romantic destination for engaged couples to tie the knot.

However, in addition to offering rural and magical weddings amidst the picturesque backdrop of Teesdale, the hotel also prides itself on being different to other wedding venues in the North East.

Couples are being encouraged to try something a little different on their big day by making the most of the amazing countryside setting.

For instance, newlyweds can snap those lifetime photos in vintage cars, motorcycles, bicycles and even tractors against the backdrop of the stunning gardens, outbuildings, barns and stables at the charming rural retreat.

Headlam Hall’s four acres of beautiful walled gardens include an immaculate main lawn, ornamental canal, rose garden and kitchen garden, also making it the perfect location for a stroll in the grounds or a bit of fun.

Thomas Robinson, of Headlam Hall, said: “Getting married is obviously a really special occasion and so, the location and images from the day should be especially memorable. WeLuxury County Durham hotel showcases quirky wedding ideas for 2019 want to offer some alternatives to generic wedding photography and so came up with a few ideas with the help of several wedding experts to truly capture the moment in a special and quirky way.”

In addition, ceremonies can also take place in the Coach House ballroom.

Thomas added: “Headlam Hall offers a truly incredible wedding experience and couples are spoilt for choice when it comes to the type of wedding they are looking for. We’re a unique destination in the fact we can offer both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions that either follow the classic English style or are created in a more relaxed and informal way.”
