How to style hair extensions for your wedding day

Every bride wants gorgeous wedding day hair. While plenty of brides look great with short hair, many brides grow out their locks before the big day or opt for hair extensions. Russian tape hair extensions are super safe as they don’t pull on your roots which means minimal damage on your hair, they last 4-6 weeks so are a quick and easy way to add volume, colour and length to create your dream look!

What makes Russian tape hair extensions the very best, is that they look completely natural so no one will detect that you’re wearing anything but your own hair. They also feel completely weightless and are super comfortable. You can also style them how you wish, whether you want to create beachy waves or a chic up do. Here’s how to create two our favourite bridal looks, beach waves and the braided bun!

Lauren Hill's tips to style your hair extensions

Beachy Waves

Before Hair extensionsLauren hill after hair extensionSeparate your hair into three sections and clip it up and out of the way, leaving the bottom third portion of your hair down. After spraying your hair with a heat protector spray, take one section of the hair and wrap it around your curling wand. Make sure you twist your hair as you wrap it around the wand, this will give you an undone look. Leave your hair on the wand for a few seconds and then release, make sure you tog on the end of the curl to loosen it to prevent super tight curls. Alternative curling each section in different directions to create a messier, beachy look. We recommend changing the size of each section so that some waves are thicker than others and this will look most natural. Leave the front pieces last and then curl away from your face for the most flattering look. Finish with a texture or volume spray and use your fingers to break up your curls.

The Braided Bun

Start with dry hair, then use a hair band to gather all of your hair on the top of your head. Take about 1/4 of the whole ponytail and drop it off to the side. Leave the 1/4 section out and create a regular ballerina bun on top using the other 3/4 of the ponytail. Once you’ve secured the bun, take the 1/4 section you left out and braid it around the bun. We love creating either a fishtail or regular braid for this. Next tie that off with a small clear elastic band and secure using bobbypins. You could also accessories this look with a flower or bow for a super cute look!
