The biggest bridal wear trends for spring 2016

You’re getting married in the spring of 2016, congratulations!

You’ve booked the venue, the guests have been invited, and the caterers are in place. Now you’re left with the exciting task of choosing what you are going to wear for one of the biggest days of your life. To ensure you know what is hip and happening in the world of bridal wear in spring 2016, take a look at the following biggest wedding fashion trends for the forthcoming year.

Let there be lace

Lace is never too far away in bridal fashion and spring 2016 is no exception. In fact lace will be such a prominent feature of bridal wear next year that one layer won’t be enough, as the most fashion-conscious of brides will don several layers of beautiful lace fabric.

The blushing bride

The concept of the blushing bride is taken to new heights in the 2016 spring season. Those who have a penchant for pink may be excited by the news that the barely there shade of pale pink and rose will be considered a ‘must have’ bridal wear trend of spring 2016.

Tradition will take centre stage

Wedding dress traditionalists will be pleased to learn traditional gowns will be a prominent feature of bridal wear next year, particularly dresses with long sleeves. Elaborate detail such as intricate lace, complex embroidery and sparkly sequins will also be a dominant feature of beautiful wedding gowns in spring 2016.

Dresses with volume

If there was one thing that stood out during Spring 2016 New York Bridal Fashion Week it was wonderfully full dresses with plenty of volume. The ‘Princess gown’ is definitely taking a position on the bridal fashion pedestal next year and, quite simply, the bigger the dress, the better. Think layer upon layer of voluminous tulle swishing flamboyantly down the aisle.

The ‘dipped’ V neckline

Next spring is all about donning alluring wedding dresses with plunging necklines. Replace the innocent high ‘sweetheart’ neckline with one that boldly plunges downwards.

Pretty in pants

From being pretty in pale pink to being pretty in pants, it’s all happening in the world of wedding fashion next spring! We’ve seen tailored wedding trousers make their way down the runway of the bridal fashion shows and will soon be making their way down the aisle of brides who want to make a statement at their wedding.

Complete the sophisticated look by wearing a tailored tuxedo and some fabulously high stilettos.

Floral embellishments

If there is one season geared towards floral accessories and features at a wedding, it’s the spring. Another firm favourite of the Spring 2016 New York Bridal Fashion Week was floral embellishments, many of which were in 3D! Don’t be afraid to think elaborately by adorning your dress in trailing vines, layers of leaves and three-dimensional petals.
