Sophie Anderson may be best known as the designer of the best-selling handwoven bags, which have been a summer staple since 2011, but recently she has also been getting attention for her new wicker baskets and hats which have been introduced this season and are the perfect swim accessory.
Following this success, she has created a line of hair accessories for the new season. Entirely hand created in Peru, using dried grass, which is all hand dyed and crocheted by native craftsmen, the pieces are unique and playful, using the classic shapes and bright colours which the brand is known for.
These distinctive pieces would make a creative and quirky headpiece for any boho bride. The range of colours and sizes available mean you can mix and match to complement your hair length or style. The large slides look playful in short, choppy hair or a modern updo as a statement accessory. We’ll be styling the individual ones dotted around a messy, undone plait, but they would also look amazing in long, dark locks placed alongside small, fresh flowers for a carefree, natural look.
There are 12 sizes available; we love the ivory crochet circles with flashes of lime green and cobalt (perfect as a something blue for anyone who wants a touch of tradition!) If you aren’t afraid of colour, an exotic bouquet and a couple of slides in your bridesmaids’ hair is a perfect way to bring a touch of tropical to your big day.
The hair pieces would also be great for a sun-filled honeymoon as they are flat and easy to travel with. A lovely way to remember your big day while you’re relaxing, and perfect with a cocktail; the ultimate accessory for beach to bar dressing.
Prices start from £49 and will be available from July at www.sophieanderson.net
