WEDDING SCENTS – UNBRIDLED PERFUME MAKING IN THE COTSWOLDS

Choosing a perfume for a loved one is a tricky task in any relationship, which is why Ellenborough Park has partnered with The Cotswold Perfumery to launch the new Unbridled package. Tapping into the personalisation trend, brides-to-be, newlyweds and couples can design a bespoke scent to wear on the big day or treasure as the ultimate mini-break keepsake.

Chief perfumer John Stephen, one of only six independent scent creators in the UK, will lead small classes for Ellenborough Park guests on making one-of-a-kind perfumes from his 300-year-old workshop in Bourton-on-the-Water.

Discover your partner’s artistic side while delving into the world of the perfume maker together; skillfully measuring floral and woody tones, spicy, musky aromas and light or deep fragrances, to find an alluring scent balance that personifies you. Novice perfumers can find inspiration in the picture-perfect gardens of Ellenborough Park from homegrown lavender, rosemary, roses and posies.

The Unbridled perfume course introduces the theory and practice of essence making including its history, fragrance composition and developing the ‘nose’ to blend oils for top, middle and bottom scent notes. At the end of the session, couples will bottle a his and hers aftershave or perfume – the must-have wedding day item.
