Going unplugged!

Gemma Spinks - Spinkdot.co.uk

Banning phones and tablets from your wedding ceremony may seem odd in today’s digital world, but you will be shocked at how quickly a sea of iPhones can ruin your beautiful wedding pictures. Your wedding photos and your rings are the only things that will last as long as your relationship, and not only should you not scrimp on getting a good photographer, you should do everything in your power to make sure those photos are the best ones you’ll ever have. That is why you should consider going unplugged.

There are many reasons you should go unplugged, number one - smartphones will ruin the great shots your photographer has been paid to take. You don’t want to be posing for that timeless snap when behind you it looks like an Apple store. It won’t be the most romantic keepsake you take away from the day.

phonePhone are also super, distracting. The last thing you want to see when you walk down the aisle is your friend from work taking a selfie with her boyfriend. You want them to be there, watching the moment you have so painstakingly planned. And don’t forget how it ruins the surprise for your evening guests. You have spent hours and hundreds of pounds getting ready for this moment, do you really want one of your guests posting pictures of you online before the evening guests get to see you in all your glory?unplugged

But one of the most important things is that it allows you and your guests to really live in the moment. And what a moment it is. If you ban phones then your guests will be more engaged in your actual ceremony and not their newsfeed. And don’t forget if you fall over at the altar, give your mother in law the side eye, cry or sneeze on your new spouse, or decide to change your mind when it comes to the “I do’s”, nobody can catch it on camera. Win win!
