Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club is an impressive 17th century country retreat set in 200 acres of Hertfordshire parkland with a Jack Nicklaus II designed golf course, well-appointed spa and highly-regarded restaurants. Hanbury Manor has furthered its position as one of the UK’s most inspirational wedding venues following an extensive £1.7m refurbishment and development of its event spaces by internationally renowned Lucid Interior Design. The fabulous results were revealed on 5 April 2018.
Wedding parties can now enjoy beautifully designed and renovated spaces while retaining a strong sense of history – once home to the prestigious Hanbury brewing family, the property was then converted into a Catholic boarding school, and many of the elegant period features have been celebrated within the new design. With a collection of rooms and areas including an atmospheric former-chapel, a romantic conservatory and listed walled garden, couples have an abundance of choices of where to celebrate their special day. The country retreat offers a beautiful backdrop with manicured gardens, pretty parkland and a serene lake.
The newly refreshed signature spaces provide an elegant and picture-perfect setting with a blend of bespoke and hand-finished interiors using a rich palette of copper, brown and blue and thoughtful references to the local area. They can all host a ceremony or a reception and include:
What's available at Hanbury Manor Marriot Hotel
Poles Hall - the beautiful chapel of the original manor house retains the original distinctive vaulted ceiling and minstrel’s gallery, now rejuvenated with a softer decor and a unique, atmospheric lighting system. The striking bespoke chandeliers and concealed LED lighting will create a soft glow or a dramatic effect depending on the mood. The new design will create a timeless space that will look beautiful for many years to come. Poles Hall is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding, and can hold up to 180 guests.
Assembly Hall - this refreshed area with polished wooden floors and subtle references to Hanbury Manor’s serene parkland includes a deconstructed rose design in the carpet in honour of the 19th century rose garden built by James II for Robert Hanbury in 1865. The new rugs and furniture are all hand-crafted from England, Scotland and Italy and the bespoke carpentry reflects the geometric quatrefoil in the garden’s fountains. It can host up to 80 guests.
The Garden Court, Summer House and Conservatory - The Garden Court is an elegant, private, self-contained space, and the original scented Grade II listed Walled Garden is the perfect setting for photographs and aperitifs. There is space for 160 guests.
A delicious banquet is the finishing touch to a special day. Each couple has a dedicated wedding team which includes an in-house chef, who will work with them to create the perfect menu for their big day. Hanbury Manor is proud to host all types of wedding celebrations, including all religions, same-sex ceremonies and the renewal of vows.
